I am guilty of coveting things and then finally going to buy them only to find they are long gone.  It's the pits.  I still think about the Daisy Face wall tapestry from the limited release Alexander Girard collection at Urban Outfitters that was just no longer there.  The latest design dither tragedy to befall me was the Button Up pillow at CB2.  It's so simple and cute, and so unavailable*.  I couldn't get it out of my head, so decided to make a version of it myself. a

Growing Up

Growing Up

I've been keeping track of my kids height with pencil on the kitchen wall.  They keep growing  (lots of oatmeal) and my wall keeps getting more pencil on it. I've been wanting to create some sort of frame for the space that we hang all of their art.  

Jasper's on a nature kick, lots of forest animals and trees so I thought I'd take that idea and integrate it with my need for a proper growth chart using pieces of balsa wood. It does a dual job of measuring the kids and dividing the space. I'll add a new height every 6 months. I put mom and dad on there so that they can set some goals.

Absolutely Cuckoo

I've always wanted a cuckoo clock. For nostalgic reasons, we had them growing up... but my love of German decor kind of ends with Bauhaus and an A-Frame. What's a girl to do?  

Check out this bad boy. It's the new Cuckoo Clock from CB2. It sits among my books under a graphic print of San Francisco, Alamo Square perspective. As with all of my chotchkies, it's white, so it easily integrates into the existing space and kind of feels like the modern house in the old neighborhood. I did have to turn the cuckoo volume down because it scares the bejesus out of us in the middle of the night.
